Update, 19th March: Unfortunately, glitches caused by a recent migration of our web domain mean that we’ve been experiencing an email outage, and that emails sent to vicar@peterborough-stjohns.org.uk or to office@peterborough-stjohns.org.uk over the past five days have not reached us, and that senders won’t have been notified of the failure.
So if you have recently applied via email for our Head of Operations post, or tried to get in touch about a Volunteering opportunity, it’s quite possible your email has not reached us. If you’re in any doubt please do resend any relevant emails.

Volunteering at St John’s & St Luke’s
There are one off events and regular activities on several days of the week at our churches where volunteers can get involved in supporting the community, meeting others, increasing their skills, sharing their experience and becoming part of a wonderful family of people who enjoy what they do and are happy to help.
If this sounds interesting check out our page on GoVip, where there are usually a number of opportunities for volunteers. The page is regularly updated throughout the year and you can apply for any of the advertised roles via the page. Alternatively, you can email the parish office – office@peterborough-stjohns.org.uk – to let us know you are interested in volunteering and the appropriate person will get in touch with you.
We follow Church of England guidance on safer recruitment for all vacancies, as detailed on page eleven of our Safeguarding Policy. As part of the application process for any role, you will be required to complete a confidential declaration form and appointment to some roles may be subject to a DBS check (if so this will be stated in the job or role description). Applications from ex-offenders will be considered fairly where appropriate. You can read our Policy on Recruitment of Ex-Offenders.
