‘I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another.’ John 13:34

Caring for one another in love is the foundation of any Christian community and is our response to Jesus’ command to us, based on his washing the feet of his disciples at the Last Supper, and also on his teaching of the Great Commandment:
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbour as yourself.’ Luke 10:27.

Our love and care for each other flows out of our love for God, for we are all made in God’s image.

Pastoral Care at St John’s and St Luke’s has been our priority as we have been exploring our mission together, and so we have set up a Pastoral Care Team who make sure that everyone is looked after and who can make pastoral calls in person, or over the phone, or online to offer a listening ear and extra support whenever needed.

We also lead monthly services in our Care Homes, The Maltings and St Margaret’s House, and we can bring Holy Communion to you at home too if you would like.

If you, or someone you know would appreciate a visit, either at home or in hospital, please let us know by contacting our vicar, Revd Michelle, on 07961 003352 or
