We take the care of everyone seriously in the church. The Parish Safeguarding Officer is Rhiannon Bradley-Stow.  Any concerns can be discussed with her:

Email: safeguarding@stjohnsandstlukespeterborough.org.uk

Alternatively use any of the contact details on our Safeguarding Poster 2025.

If you have been abused by someone in the church and would rather contact a body completely independent of the church then you can contact the Safe Spaces England and Wales helpline on 0300 3031056.

We follow the Safeguarding Policies for the Diocese of Peterborough and everyone who works with children or adults at risk is recruited following the Safer Recruiting procedures, including checks made with the Disclosure and Barring Service, where appropriate.

A copy of our Safeguarding Policy can be seen at St John’s & St Luke’s Safer Church Policy & Procedures Updated June 2025 or you can view this simple one page summary. Our Safeguarding Policy adopts and takes into account the House of Bishops safeguarding policies and procedures for children, young people and adults contained in “Promoting a Safer Church“.

Guidance has been produced in conjunction with the NSPCC for parents of children using social media.
